The Brand New Steadfast JUPITER ONE PLUS Driver Shaft was designed with torque and balance as the number one priority, leading to the best feeling and most stable shafts on the market.

— Steadfast Golf

About this shaft

The Jupiter One Plus driver shaft is a carbon fibre shaft from Steadfast Golf. According to Steadfast, it was designed with torque and balance as the number one priority, aiming for a stable shaft with a solid feel. Steadfast describes its carbon fibre shafts as an improvement on typical graphite shafts in durability, performance and overall feel.

It is offered in five flexes and with tip adapters for most popular adjustable drivers, so you can fit it to the driver head you already own. A raw version, with no adapter fitted, is available for club builders and for drivers with a conventional glued hosel.

Who it suits

  • Golfers who like their driver head but want a shaft better matched to their swing.
  • Golfers between sets who want a meaningful upgrade without buying a new driver.
  • Ladies and senior golfers, thanks to the dedicated ladies and senior flexes — often hard to find in aftermarket shafts.
  • Faster swingers looking for stability, with stiff and X-stiff options.

Choosing the right options

  1. Flex: use your driver swing speed or typical driver distance as a starting point — see the flex table in our shaft buying guide. Most male club golfers fit regular flex; many seniors fit senior flex; most women fit ladies flex.
  2. Tip adapter: choose the option that matches your driver head. If your manufacturer has more than one option, check which generation your driver belongs to. Choose Raw for a glued hosel or if a club builder will fit your own adapter.
  3. Before you order: check the retailer's listing for length, grip and what is included, and contact them if you are unsure about compatibility.

Why the driver shaft matters most

The driver has the longest shaft and the lowest loft in your bag, so it is where a mismatched shaft does the most damage. A shaft that is too stiff can leave the ball low and to the right (for a right-hander); one that is too soft can send it high and left, with too much spin. A shaft matched to your speed and tempo helps you launch the ball at a better angle with sensible spin — the combination that turns swing speed into distance.

For technique, read how to hit a driver, and for more on distance, how to hit the golf ball further.

What to consider

  • Price: an aftermarket shaft is an investment. It makes most sense if you already like your driver head.
  • Fit: the best results come from a fitting or launch monitor session, especially if you are between flexes.
  • Installation: shafts with an adapter are designed to fit adjustable drivers; raw shafts need fitting by a club builder.
  • Currency: prices are in US dollars. Check delivery costs and any import duties if you are outside the US.

Playing the same shaft in your fairway woods keeps feel and ball flight consistent through the bag. See the matching Jupiter One Plus 3-wood shaft and Jupiter One Plus 5-wood shaft.

Frequently asked questions

Will a new driver shaft add distance?

It can, if your current shaft is the wrong flex or weight for your swing. A better-matched shaft helps you launch the ball at a better angle with sensible spin and make more centred contact — the main sources of extra distance. If your current shaft already suits you, the gains are smaller and mostly about feel and consistency.

Can I keep my current driver head?

Yes — that is the point of an adapter shaft. Choose the tip adapter that matches your driver (for example TaylorMade, Titleist or Ping 410/425), and the shaft screws into your existing head like the original.

Which flex should I choose for my driver?

Use your driver swing speed or typical driver distance as a guide: ladies under about 70 mph, senior about 70–85 mph, regular about 85–95 mph, stiff about 95–110 mph and X-stiff above that. Not sure? Our shaft flex finder matches your numbers to a flex in seconds. If you are between two, a launch monitor session will settle it.

What does "Raw" mean?

Raw means no tip adapter is fitted. It suits drivers with a glued hosel and golfers who use a club builder to fit their own adapter.
