Golf Shafts
X-stiff (extra stiff) golf shafts
X-stiff, or extra stiff, is the firmest flex, built for very fast swings — typically a driver swing speed above about 110 mph. It suits strong players who need to keep launch and spin under control.
Most golfers do not need an X-stiff shaft: playing too stiff a shaft usually costs height and distance. If you are not sure, measure your swing speed on a launch monitor first.
