Affiliate Disclosure
How Golfdrive.org earns money through affiliate links, and the editorial rules that keep our golf recommendations honest and independent.
Golfdrive.org is free to read, and we want to keep it that way. To help cover the cost of running the site and producing in-depth golf content, some of our pages may contain affiliate links. This page explains what that means for you, in line with the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, the UK Advertising Standards Authority's guidance and similar rules elsewhere.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special link to a retailer's website that lets the retailer know you came from Golfdrive.org. If you make a qualifying purchase within the retailer's tracking period, the retailer pays us a percentage of the sale or a fixed fee.
- The price you pay is the same whether or not you use our link.
- You are never obliged to use our links. You can always search for a product directly.
- Some programmes credit us for other items you buy during the same visit, not just the product we mentioned.
Programmes we may take part in
Golfdrive.org may take part in affiliate programmes run by golf retailers, equipment manufacturers, travel and tee-time booking services, and affiliate networks. When we join a programme that requires a specific statement, such as the Amazon Associates Program, we add that statement to this page.
How to recognise affiliate content
We make affiliate relationships easy to spot:
- Article notice. Any article containing affiliate links shows a clear disclosure box near the top, before the first link.
- Link format. Affiliate links on Golfdrive.org pass through a short redirect that begins with
golfdrive.org/go/. You can see this by hovering over the link. - Search engines. Affiliate links are tagged as
rel="sponsored"so search engines know they are commercial links. - Product cards. "Check price" buttons on product recommendation cards are affiliate links.
Our editorial independence
Commissions help pay the bills, but our credibility with golfers matters far more. These rules always apply:
- Editorial first. We choose topics and products based on what is useful to golfers. Whether an affiliate programme exists, or how much it pays, never decides what we recommend or how we rank it.
- No paid reviews. Brands and retailers cannot pay for a positive review, a higher ranking or a place in our "best of" lists.
- Honest assessments. If a product has drawbacks, we say so — even if it means we earn less.
- Clear sponsored content. If we ever publish sponsored content or receive a product for free, we will label it clearly as Sponsored or Gifted at the top of the article.
- Our own research. Our recommendations are based on our own research and testing, manufacturer specifications, and the experience of real golfers. Where we have not personally tested a product, we will say so.
Prices and availability
Prices, stock levels, promotions and product details are set by retailers and change frequently. Any price we mention was accurate when we checked it but may since have changed. Always check the final price and terms on the retailer's website before you buy.
Your purchase is with the retailer
When you buy through an affiliate link, your contract is with the retailer, not with Golfdrive.org. Questions about orders, delivery, returns, warranties or refunds should go to the retailer. For more information, see our Terms of Use.
Privacy
Our /go/ links record which link was clicked and from which page, without storing your IP address or any personal information. Retailers and affiliate networks may use cookies on their own websites to track referrals. Read more in our Privacy Policy.
