About this shaft

The Jupiter One Plus 3-wood shaft is the fairway wood version of Steadfast Golf's Jupiter One Plus shaft family. Steadfast says its Jupiter One Plus shafts are designed with torque and balance as the top priority, and describes its carbon fibre shafts as more durable and better feeling than a typical graphite shaft.

Like the driver version, it comes in five flexes and with tip adapters for most popular adjustable fairway woods, plus a raw option with no adapter for club builders and glued hosels.

Why the 3-wood is different

The 3-wood is one of the most demanding clubs to hit well. It is used both off the tee — on tight holes where the driver brings trouble into play — and from the fairway for long second shots on par 5s. That means the shaft has to help you launch the ball from the turf as well as from a tee.

A 3-wood shaft is designed for the shorter length of a fairway wood, so it should not simply be a driver shaft in a different head. Matching your 3-wood shaft to your driver shaft — same family, same flex — gives a familiar feel when you switch between the two clubs.

Who it suits

  • Golfers who rely on their 3-wood off the tee and want more consistency.
  • Golfers who struggle to launch their 3-wood from the fairway, who may benefit from a softer, better-matched flex.
  • Golfers fitting the Jupiter One Plus in their driver who want the same feel through their woods.
  • Ladies and seniors, with dedicated flexes for moderate swing speeds.

Choosing the right options

  1. Flex: most golfers play the same flex in their fairway woods as in their driver. See the flex table in our shaft buying guide.
  2. Tip adapter: choose the option that matches your fairway wood. Some golfers have a driver and fairway woods from different manufacturers — check each club. Choose Raw for a glued hosel or club-builder installation.
  3. Before you order: check length, grip and what is included on the retailer's listing.

Getting more from your 3-wood

A better shaft helps, but technique and strategy matter just as much. Tee the ball low when using a 3-wood off the tee, sweep it from the fairway rather than hitting down steeply, and choose it as a strategic club on tight holes. See club selection and how to hit the ball solidly.

What to consider

  • Your 3-wood head: a new shaft makes most sense in a head you already hit well.
  • Fitting: test on a launch monitor if you can, especially from the turf.
  • Currency: prices are in US dollars; check delivery and any import duties outside the US.

Frequently asked questions

Should my 3-wood shaft match my driver shaft?

Most golfers benefit from playing the same shaft family and flex in their driver and fairway woods. It gives a consistent feel and similar timing when you switch clubs, which helps on tight holes where the 3-wood replaces the driver.

Is a 3-wood shaft the same as a driver shaft?

No. A 3-wood shaft is built for the shorter length of a fairway wood and the demands of hitting from the turf as well as the tee, which is why Steadfast offers a dedicated 3-wood version.

Which tip adapter do I need for my 3-wood?

The one that matches your fairway wood's manufacturer — which may differ from your driver's. Check each club before ordering, and choose Raw for a glued hosel.
